At kiub, we respect your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data we receive when you contact us, what we use it for, and what rights you have, in accordance with Costa Rica's Law No. 8968, Ley de Protección de la Persona frente al Tratamiento de sus Datos Personales (Law on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of Their Personal Data), and its implementing regulations.

2. What data we receive
Only the data you choose to give us when you contact us:
- Via WhatsApp: your phone number, your profile name, and the messages or files you send us.
- Via email: your email address, your name, and the content of your message and any attachments.
This information is kept in kiub's contacts and clients database, which only the kiub team can access. Giving us your data is voluntary; if you don't, we won't be able to reply or prepare a proposal for you.
We don't ask for sensitive data (health, religion, sexual orientation, etc.). Please don't send it through these channels.
Browsing data: we use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, how the site is used (pages visited, device type, and approximate location). It uses cookies and a random identifier for your browser, but we don't use it to identify you by name. You can block cookies in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and see how Google uses this information.
The site does not currently respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals, and other than Google (Analytics), no third party collects information here about your online activity over time or across other sites.
3. What we use it for
- To answer your inquiry and follow up with you.
- To prepare quotes and proposals you request.
- To schedule meetings and, if we end up working together, to manage the project, billing, and communication.
We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it to send you advertising without your consent.
4. Your consent
By writing to us through any of these channels and giving us your data, you authorize us to use it for the purposes described above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to info@kiub.co.
5. Who we share it with
We don't share your data with third parties for their own purposes. To operate, we use service providers that may store or process information on our behalf, for example:
- WhatsApp (Meta) for messaging.
- Our email providers.
- Google Analytics (Google) for site measurement.
- Our website hosting provider.
Some of these providers may be located outside Costa Rica. We only share data with authorities when required by law.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as it's needed to handle your inquiry or our business relationship, and afterward for the period required by legal, accounting, or tax obligations.
7. How we protect it
We take reasonable measures to protect your information: access limited to the team members who need it, password-protected accounts, and trusted providers. No system is 100% foolproof, but we work to reduce the risks.
8. Your rights
Under Law 8968, you can at any time:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct it if it's incomplete or inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete it (erasure).
- Withdraw your consent.
To exercise your rights, email us at info@kiub.co and include your name and your request. We'll respond within the time frame set by law.
If you feel we didn't handle your request properly, you can contact the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB), Costa Rica's data protection agency.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version will always be on this page, along with the date it was last updated.
